AI-DRIVEN ACCELERATION IN PANDEMIC DIAGNOSIS

Let's Get Started

Transforming Radiology Workload Through Partnership and Speed

Amid the height of the COVID-19 crisis, hospitals faced mounting diagnostic backlogs. GE HealthCare collaborated with AI innovator Lunit to develop and launch the Thoracic Care Suite, an AI-powered chest imaging solution that helped radiologists prioritize cases and make faster, more informed decisions when it mattered most.

Challenge

With no antigen testing available in the early months of the pandemic, the volume of imaging overwhelmed radiology teams, exposing a critical need for faster triage and review. The technology solution was in development, but its success depended on achieving rapid global region alignment and confident market execution amid unprecedented pressure.

Solution

In close collaboration with regional, regulatory, and communications partners, I led the global commercialization strategy for the Thoracic Care Suite, working closely with product management in aligning readiness, messaging, and launch execution across three regions simultaneously.

We established a unified positioning framework that clearly articulated the suite’s clinical and operational value while enabling responsible discussions about AI in healthcare. The commercialization plan combined coordinated regional rollout with a high-impact global PR launch that generated earned media coverage, executive interviews, and broad visibility across trade and mainstream outlets.

This synchronized effort accelerated global market readiness, strengthened customer confidence, and demonstrated how disciplined commercialization, supported by aligned teams and clear storytelling, can deliver meaningful innovation at unprecedented speed.

Results

Within three months, the Thoracic Care Suite moved from concept to commercial availability across multiple regions. The launch established a new internal benchmark for rapid, responsible innovation and showed how cross-functional collaboration can amplify global impact.
